New insights on the photophysical behavior of PRODAN in anionic and cationic reverse micelles: From which state or states does it emit?

Article Abstract:

Several mythologies, including the steady-state, time resolved fluorescence and time-resolved area normalized emission are used to study the photophysical behavior of 6-propionyl-2-(N,N-dimethyl)aminonapthalene, PRODAN in various anionic and cationic reverse micelles. The results show that reverse micellar systems interfaces are the main cause of the intramolecular charge-transfer (ICT) states observed in PRODAN, which then exhibits the phenomenon of dual fluorescence.

Condensed DNA in lipid microcompartments

Article Abstract:

DNA was studied in lipid micelles with the aim of investigating the interactions of DNA with lipids in a restricted compartment with minimal water content. Circular dichroic spectra of DNA at low water content showed the characteristic polymer-salt-induced spectra of condensed DNA.

Influence of the pH-induced ionization on the conformation of dodecyldimethylamine oxide micelles: a radiowave dielectric relaxation and light-scattering study

Article Abstract:

Some dielectric measurements in dilute aqueous solution of DDAO in the megahertz frequency range are presented. The method associated with the single micelle induced by the protonation process and influence of ionic counterion species on the micelle size is also discussed.
