Novartis, after the legal defeat over a patent for its leukemia drug Glivec, has reportedly decided to withdraw its 90-million-euro investment on a new R&D center in India. The company will instead make investments in other countries offering better intellectual property protection. The proceedings of the patent case, and the investment projects of Novartis in China, are discussed.
