Nucleating pattern formation in spin-coated polymer blend films with nanoscale surface templates

Article Abstract:

The unique experimental flexibility afforded by Dip-Pen Nanolithography (DPN) is used to generate templates to study systematically the effect of nanoscale surface templates on pattern formation in spin-coated polymer blends. The nano- and microscale surface templates generated with DPN can be used to guide pattern formation in spin-coated blends of polystyrene/poly(2-vinylpyridine) (PS/P2VP) and polymer polystyrene/poly-(3-hexylthiophene) (PS/P3HT).

Electrolyte-controlled redox conductivity and n-type doping in poly(bis-EDOT-pyridine)s

Article Abstract:

The use of electrolyte variations as a means to actively control redox and n-type doping processes in pi-conjugated electroactive polyheterocycles are reported. Thus, a series of donor-acceptor bis-EDOT-pyridine polymers, poly[2,5-bis-(2,3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-pyridine] (PBEDOT-Pyr) and poly[5,8-bis-(3-dihydro-thieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2,3-diphenyl-pyrido[3,4-b]pyrazine (PBEDOT-PyrPyr(Ph)2) are investigated.

Accurate determination of pyridine-poly(amidoamine) dendrimer absolute binding constants with the OPLS-AA force field and direct integration of radial distribution functions

Article Abstract:

The absolute association constants and free energies of association with pyridine for the first generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimers in chloroform are calculated. OPLS-AA force field combined with direct radial distribution functions (RDF) is applicable for reproduction and prediction of absolute intermolecular association constants of low magnitudes in the ca. 0.2 - 2.0 range.
