Optical limiting of a covalently bonded gold nanoparticle/polylysine hybrid material

Article Abstract:

The optical limiting performance of a covalently bonded gold nanoparticle/polylysine hybrid material (AuNP-PLL) is examined using 4.1 ns laser pulses at 532 nm. The hybrid material has displayed an optical limiting in comparison to individual nanoparticles and reverse saturable absorption and/or free carrier absorption is found to be the dominant contributors to the optical limiting of the hybrid material.

High-resolution apertureless near-field optical imaging using gold nanosphere probes

Article Abstract:

Gold nanosphere probes are used for a scattering-type apertureless near-field scanning optical microscope (ANSOM) probe is presented. The near-filed scanning-probe ANSOM allows for the examination of fundamental nano-optical principles of the image contrast mechanism without the complications from the extended cone structure of the metal-coated tip.

Diameter-dependent optical constants of gold mesoparticles electrodeposited on aluminum films containing copper

Article Abstract:

Electrodeposition of gold mesoparticles on anodized and chemically etched aluminum/copper films deposited on silicon wafers proceeds by instantaneous nucleation and with no diffusion limitations. Both of these phenomena favor the formation of relatively monodispersed gold particles.
