Oriented attachment kinetics for ligand capped nanocrystals: Coarsening of thiol-PbS nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

A two-stage growth process, controlled first by oriented attachment (OA) mechanism followed by the hybrid Ostwald ripening (OR) and OA mechanism is observed to study the growth kinetics for ligand capped nanocrystals like thiol-capped PbS nanoparticles. The analysis has proved to be extremely beneficial and indicates that the OR growth of the nanocrystals is hindered by a stronger surface capping.

Size effect of polydiacetylene vesicles functionalized with glycolipids on their colorimetric detection ability

Article Abstract:

The size-effect of the polydiacetylene vesicles functionalized with glycolipids on their colorimetric detection ability is studied. Small and uniform vesicles are obtained after extrusion through membranes with different pore sizes and it is observed that effect is stronger if the vesicles are smaller, making the detection of Con A easier.
