The Jouveinal company has transferred its head office from Fresnes in the Val-de-Marne d partement to Courbevoie in the Hauts-de-Seine d partement, and it has changed its name to Parke-Davis Sca. Previously the Jouveinal company received the Parke-Davis' prescription drug production and distribution operations, and the sales of shaving and aquarium products, which represents a net value of FFr 828,344,780.

Sanofi and Synthelabo general shareholders meetings are to approve the acquisition-merger operations of Sanofi and Synthelabo on 18 May 1999. The share exchanges are to begin on 25 May 1999. Elf-Aquitaine is to control 35.1% of the new company, and L'Oreal is to control 19.4%.
