Phase-separation structure of a monolayer of binary polymer blend studied by fluorescence scanning near-field optical microscopy

Article Abstract:

The phase-separation structure of a binary mixture of pyrene-labeled poly(isobutyl methacrylate) and perylene-labeled poly(octadecal methacrylate) is investigated using a fluorescence scanning near-field optical microscope.

Two-dimensional polymers investigated by scanning near-field optical microscopy: phase separation of polymer blend monolayer

Article Abstract:

Phase separation behavior of a polymer blend monolayer which consisted of dye-labeled poly(octadecyl methacrylate) PODMA and poly(isobutyl methacrylate)(PiBMA) by scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM), was investigated. At the air/water interface, (PODMA) and (PiBMA) formed stable monolayers.

Photoinduced intramolecular charge separation in poly(alkyl methacrylate) solids studied by using a fluorescent polarity probe

Article Abstract:

The rate of photoinduced intramolecular charge separation (CS) k(sub CS) in polymer solids was evaluated by the fluorescence lifetime measurement over a temperature range 100-400 K. The results reveal that CS in poly(alkyl methacrylate) is promoted above T(sub g) or T(sub m) by enhancement in orientational motions of ester groups with a relaxation time comparable to the CS event.
