Photocatalytic property and electronic structure of triple-layered perovskite tantalates, MCa(sub 2)Ta(sub 3)O(sub 10) (M = Cs, Na, H, and C[sub 6]H[sub 13]NH[sub 3])

Article Abstract:

The Dion-Jacobson series of triple-layered perovskite tantalates [MCa(sub 2)Ta(sub 3)O(sub 10)] were synthesized to evaluate their photocatalytic activity for overall water-splitting to evolve H(sub 2)/O(sub 2) under UV radiation. The FLAPW electronic surface structure calculation demonstrated that the terminating oxygen site, O(4), which faces to the interlayer space, contributes largely to the top of the valence bond.

Role of hydrogen-spillover in H2-NO reaction over Pd-supported NOx-adsorbing material, MnOx-CeO2

Article Abstract:

The reactivity of NOx-adsorbing material, MnOx-CeO2, toward H2 is studied in the presence of impregnated Pd catalysts by the use of micropulse reactions, in situ DRIFT spectroscopy, and chemisorption experiments. The main focus detailed is the role played by Pd enabling to produce atomic hydrogen, which spills over onto MnOx-CeO2 and leads to the reduction of the surface.

Photocatalytic property and electronic structure of lanthanide tantalates, LnTaO(sub 4) (Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, and Sm)

Article Abstract:

Lanthanide tantalates dependence of photocatalytic activity is governed by the energy level of Ln 4f levels in the bond structure, which is dependent on the chemical composition and crystal structure. The reason for this is the interactions between the empty and filled Ln 4f levels and carrier generated under UV irradiation.
