Photoisomerization of azobenzene derivatives in nanaostructured silica

Article Abstract:

A series of azobenzene derivatives are synthesized where one end of the azo molecules is derivatized so that it attaches to silica and the other end is derivatized with a certain generation of the Frechel dendron. The size and weight increases from AzoG0 to AzoG3.

Article Abstract:

The spontaneous order and the photoinduced order strongly depend on the structure of chromophores and also on the main polymer chain. The influence of the molecular structure on the 3D alignment of azochromophores in nonirradiated and irradiated films are given.

Synthesis of new electrooptic chromophores and their structure-property relationship

Article Abstract:

Several new high (mu)(beta) chromophores are synthesized. The chromophores are studied in two different polymer host systems to compare their dependence of the electrooptic coefficient and stability on the matrix material.
