Pneumatochemical impedance spectroscopy. 1: Principles

Article Abstract:

Pneumatochemical impedance spectroscopy (PIS) is the indirect transposition of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to solid-gas reactions. In PIS analysis, an analogy is made between pressure and electrical potential on one hand and gas flow and electric current on the other hand and pneumatochemical transfer functions are derived from gas-phase measurements.

Inducing and observing the abstraction of a single hydrogen atom in bimolecular reactions with a scanning tunneling microscope

Article Abstract:

A variable temperature scanning tunneling microscope was used to characterize interactions between diffusing hydrogen sulfide and water molecules and various coadsorbates on Cu(001). A single hydrogen atom abstraction in simple bimolecular reactions was induced and observed with atomic resolution.

A mechanism of the ion separation of the NaCl microcrystal via the association of water clusters

Article Abstract:

The title heterolytic cleavage process of the micro crystal is studied by through ab initio calculations. The heterolytic dissociation is initiated by the cooperative dissociation of two ions with the aid of polarized water molecules is discovered.
