Polymer-filled nanoporous silica aerogels as hosts for highly stable solid-state dye lasers

Article Abstract:

The preparation and properties of some solid-state dye laser materials based on polymer-filled nanoporous aerogels and characterize their laser performance under transversal pumping. The result indicates that by using the adequate silica environment in solid-state dye lasers based on polymer-filled nanoporous aerogils, it is possible to stabilize the laze the laser operation of a given dye while maintaining the good lasing efficiency achieved in purely organic matrixes.

Preparation and properties of silica coated cobalt nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

A procedure that permits the preparation of Co nanoparticles of various sizes in aqueous solution and their coating with well-defined silica shells is described. The findings state that the core- shell particles can be subsequently transformed in independent, crystalline nanoparticles upon annealing, which are stable in air for long periods of time.

Influence of spatial restrictions on equilibrium reactions: a case study about the excimer formation of pyrene

Article Abstract:

The spatial restriction parallel to the functional interactions is an idea to act as model compounds for the examination of spatial confinement effects. In the current contribution, a bimolecular reaction, the formation of excimers of pyrenre is studied under varying confinement conditions in ordered mesoporous silica materials.
