Synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon nanostructures by the reactions of small molecule carbon halides with sodium azide

Article Abstract:

Nitrogen-doped carbon nanostructures including particles, whiskers, square frameworks, lamellar layers, hollow spheres and tubular structures are synthesized by designed direct chemical reactions of small molecule carbon halides and nitridation reagent NaN(sub 3) in the absence of any templates and catalysts. This strategy provides an alternative route to synthesize nitrogen-doped carbon nanostructures and opens a new route for the synthesis of carbon nitrides.

Selected-control hydrothermal synthesis of gamma-MnO2 3D nanostructures

Article Abstract:

Highly uniform gamma-MnO2 3D urchinlike and sisallike nanostructures are prepared by a common hydrothermal method based on the reaction between MnSO4 and KBrO3. It is observed that when the polymers are introduced into the system, the sisallike nanostructures with narrow or broad leaves can be obtained through the addition of polymers with different molecular weight, respectively.

Lithium-assisted synthesis and characterization of crystalline 3C-SiC nanobelts

Article Abstract:

A lithium-assisted synthetic route is developed for the growth of 3C-SiC nanobelt at a mild temperature. Electron microscopy investigations revealed that the nanobelts are usually 50-200 nm wide, 20-60 nm thick, and up to tens of micrometers long.
