Burroughs Ag Services Inc of Toluca, IL, has developed its own equipment maintenance program that is aimed at preventing unscheduled breakdowns. The company, one of Farm Chemicals magizine's Top 100 Dealerships in 1999, uses a 71-checkpoint program on its 18 application rigs and other equipment. The system, which Burroughs applies at a minimum of twice-a- year intervals, was designed by shop foreman Randy Nenne.

Dealers and e-commerce
Article Abstract:
A survey of agricultural chemicals dealers reveals how they are coping with e-commerce so far in 2000. The survey shows that about 10% of 15% of the agricultural chemicals are sold through the Internet. Most of the dealers say the main challenge in their e-commerce efforts is how to price services with products. Other dealers say that sizing up their market will be the key to a successful e-commerce campaign.
