Primary passages for various TiO2 photocatalysts studied by means of luminol chemiluminescent probe

Article Abstract:

The photocatalytic characteristics of TiO2 aqueous suspension were examined by the chemiluminescent probe technique, which allows the monitoring of superoxide ions and hydrogen peroxide in the reaction system. The quantity of formed superoxide ions was found to be independent of the surface characteristics of TiO2, while H2O2 was produced substantially for smaller particles with a large number of surface hydroxyl groups.

Mechanism of photocatalytic production of active Oxygens on highly crystalline TiO2 particles by means of chemiluminescent probing and ESR spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The relationship between the properties of TiO2 powder and the photocatalytic production of superoxide radical and Hydrogen peroxide (H(sub 2)O(sub 2)) by means of the luminol chemiluminescent (CL) probe method are studied. Under the observation in ESR measurement and other evidence it was found that the luminol is oxidized via hydroxyl radicals rather than the direct oxidation by photoinduced surface trapped holes.

Photocatalytic oxidation reactivity of holes in the sulfur- and carbon-doped TiO2 powders studied by time-resolved diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The photocatalytic oxidation reactivities of the photogenerated holes during ultraviolet or visible laser flash photolysis of pure anatase and sulfur- and carbon-doped TiO2 powders are investigated using time-resolved diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.
