Protein structure and dynamics from single-molecule fluorescence resonance energy transfer

Article Abstract:

A study explores the pros and cons of single-molecule versus ensemble-averaged fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) experiments, performed on proteins. A detailed analysis of the distribution of the donor-acceptance distance is presented at different points along the denaturation curve, along with its dependence on the averaging time window.

Energy transfer in the nanostar: The role of coulombic coupling and dynamics

Article Abstract:

A theoretical investigation of energy transfer in the phenylene ethynelene dendrimer, which is known as the nanostar, is presented. The results of the pump-probe experiments on the nanostar are discussed in detail and predictions are made about the temperature dependence of the rate constant for energy transfer is presented.

Energy transfer in unsymmetrical phenylene ethynylene dendrimers

Article Abstract:

The fluorescence upconversion technique is applied to explore the electronic excitation energy transfer in unsymmetrical phenylene ethynylene dendrimers. The results indicate that the interaction energy between the dendrimer backbone and trap is estimated to be 75 cm(super -1).
