Combining optical trapping and single molecule fluorescence spectroscopy: enhanced photobleaching of fluorophores

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to examine whether enhanced photobleaching occurs in combined trapping and fluorescence experiments and under what experimental conditions it occurs and whether measures can be taken to reduce it. The result indicates that enhanced photobleaching is caused by the absorption of a visible photon followed by the excited state absorption of a near infrared photon.

Improvements of the poly (vinyl cinnamate) photoresponse in order to induce high refractive index variations

Article Abstract:

The influence of the irradiation spectrum on the sensitivity of poly (vinyl cinnamate) (PVCi) in order to enhance the index contrast in the near infrared region (NIR) is reported. The study shows that strong index changes can be achieved in PVCi film, up to 2.5 x 10(super -2) even in the NIR.

Controlling the pathway of photosynthetic charge separation in bacterial reaction centers

Article Abstract:

Controlling the pathway of photosynthetic charge separation in bacterial reaction centers is discussed. This raises the possibility that similar control of wild type reaction centers could be mediated either by external factors or by photochemically induced electrostatic changes in vivo.
