Pulsed sonoelectrochemical synthesis of size-controlled copper nanoparticles stabilized by poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone)

Article Abstract:

A novel sonoelectrochemical method is developed for the size-controlled synthesis of spherical copper nanoparticles in an aqueous phase by using poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) the stabilizer for the copper clusters. The results have shown that the transfer rate of PVP-stabilized copper clusters from the cathodic vicinity to the bulk solution played an important role in the preparation of the monodisperesed nanoparticles.

Generation of hydrophilic, bamboo-shaped multiwalled carbon nanotubes by solid-state pyrolysis and its electrochemical studies

Article Abstract:

A simple and efficient solid-state process for the generation of hydrophilic carbon nanotubes is presented. Raman studies revealed the presence of disorder in the graphitic carbon and the presence of exposed edge plane defects in the generated carbon nanotubes for influencing the surface behavior and electrochemical properties.

Solid state synthesis of tungsten nanorods and nanoplatelets by a single-step pyrolysis

Article Abstract:

A simple and efficient single-step synthesis of tungsten carbide nanorods and nanoplatelets is reported by direct pyrolysis of a hybrid composite material of 12-tungstophosphoric acid and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide in a closed Swagelok cell at 1000 degree Celsius. The size of the platelets is around 55 nm.
