Raman spectra from saturated water vapor to the supercritical fluid

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze Raman spectra from saturated water vapor to the supercritical fluid. The non-H-bonded OH stretching modes were assumed to correlate with the integrated intensity above the isobestic frequency and the dimer. Density-normalized Raman OH stretching vapor intensities were determined from 255 to 314 degrees C. In addition, density normalization was associated with the division of intensities by the density of the vapor.

Microheterogeneous structure of 1-octanol in neat and water-saturated state

Article Abstract:

The conformational and dynamic properties of 1-octanol in neat and in water-saturated states are explored. Results reveal a reversed micelle-like cluster model where the octanol cluster has an inner polar core of hydrogen-bonded octanol hydroxyls and an outer shell of nonpolar alkyl chains radiating outside.

Two dominant factors influencing the impact sensitivities of nitrobenzenes and saturated nitro compounds

Article Abstract:

The dominant factors governing the impact sensitivity ([H.sub.50]) of nitrobenzenes and saturated nitro compounds are analyzed. The cross-validation results have shown the quantitative model to be stable, which might also be a useful tool for the design of high-energy-density materials.
