Reorientational dynamics and solid-phase transformation of ammonium dicyanamide into dicyandiamide: a [super 2]H solid-super NMR study

Article Abstract:

[super 2]H and [super 14]N solid-state NMR spectroscopy is used for studying the reorientational dynamics of ammonium dicyanamide and the kinetics as well as the mechanism of the solid-state isomerization reaction from ammonium dicyanamide into dicyandiamide. The reaction is classified as a solid-state reaction and the yields of the transformation are enhanced by conducting the reaction under the pressure of ammonia.

Molecular dynamics studies on the role of tetramethylammonium cations in the stability of the silica octamers Si8O(sub 20)(super 8-) in solution

Article Abstract:

The stability of silica octamers, Si8O(sub 20)(super 8-) observed in tetramethylammonium (TMA) solutions in connection with the TMA concentration is investigated. The result reveals that TMA adsorption, water molecules associated with the siloxane oxygens leave the silica surface, whereas the hydrogen-bond network of the silanol oxygens with water molecules remains intact.

Nuclear magnetic resonance and small-angle neutron scattering studies of anionic surfactants with macrocounterions: Tetramethylammonium dodecyl sulfate

Article Abstract:

Micellar solutions of tetramethylammonium dodecyl sulfate are studied to determine the degree of counterion binding. Tetramethylammonium chloride was added over a wide range of surfactant concentrations such that the total concentration of tetramethylammonium ions in solution remained constant.
