Selectively assembled Co nanoparticle stripes prepared by covalent linkage and microcontact printing

Article Abstract:

A novel and versatile strategy for the fabricators of assemblies of Co nanoparticles on Si surfaces was done using covalent linkages between terminal function groups attached to the Si substrate and the Co nanoparticles. The two strategies presented provide a foundation for the development of systems of nano building blocks that can be used in transition metal nano-particle-based architectures.

Decomposition processes of organic-anion-pillared clays Co(sub a)Mg(sub b)Al(OH)(sub c)(TA)(sub d).nH2O

Article Abstract:

CoMgAI-hydrotalcite-like compounds [Co(sub a)Mg(sub b)(OH)(sub c)(TA)(sub d).nH2O] intercalated with terephthalate anions {[C(sub 6)H(sub 4)(COO)(sub 2)](super 2- ) or TA(super 2-)} are prepared using different methods. The as-prepared samples undergo different decomposition pathways when they are heated in air and in nitrogen atmospheres respectively.

Formation mechanism of Mg2SiO4 fishbone-like fractal nanostructures

Article Abstract:

High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) is used to examine the Mg2SiO4 fishbone-like fractal nanostructures. The formation mechanism of the branches of Mg2SiO4 fibers and the Co nanoparticles and their detailed structure at different growth stages are discussed.
