Self-assembled via axial coordination magnesium porphyrin-imidazole appended fullerene dyad: Spectroscopic, eletrochemical, computational, and photochemical studies

Article Abstract:

Spectroscopic, redox and electron transfer reactions of a self-assembled donor-acceptor dyad formed by axial coordination of magnesium meso-tetraphenyloporphyrin (MgTPP) and fulleropyrrolidine appended with an imidazole coordinating ligand (C60Im) were investigated. The result revealed that the formation of a 1:1 C60Im:MgTPP supramolecular complex, and the anticipated 1:2 complex could not be observed as the needed large amounts of the amounts of the axial coordinating ligand.

Conformations and electronic structures of axially coordinated fullerene-porphyrin-fullerene triad (C60CHCOO)(sub 2)-Sn(IV) porphyrin

Article Abstract:

The conformational (cis and trans) stability and electronic structures of (C60CHCOO)(sub 2)-Sn(IV) porphyrin, which is synthesized as a novel fullerene-porphyrin-fullerene triad linked by metal axial coordination, is analyzed by an initio calculations. The photoinduced electron transfer (PET) takes place unidirectionally in the cis conformer from the porphyrin to the syn-fullerene, while it is bidirectional from the porphyrin to both of the fullerene moieties.

Excited state dynamic and nonlinear absorption of a pyrazinoporphyrazine macrocycle carrying externally appended pyridine rings

Article Abstract:

The nonlinear optical properties of the Mg(II) complex of tetrakis-2,3-[5,6-di(2-pyridyl)pyrazino]porphyrazine ([[Py.sub.8]TPyz-PzMg([H.sub.2]O) in DMSO solution is studied in the nanosecond time regime at 532 nm. It is found that the solution shows a good optical limiting performance up to fluences of 2200 mj [cm.sup.-2].
