Shape evolution of Cu2O nanostructures via kinetic and thermodynamic controlled growth

Article Abstract:

The shape evolution process of Cu2O nanocrystals upon slow oxidation of Cu under ambient conditions, yielding novel hexagonal and triangular platelike morphologies is reported. The findings state that the slow oxidation process and use of crystallographic selective surfactants are essential for the appearance of anisotropic metastable shapes.

Self-assembly of heterogeneous supramolecular structures with uniaxial anisotropy

Article Abstract:

Study is conducted to show that the coadsorption of linear, planar molecules with complementary end-groups give rise to supramolecular binary structures with strong uniaxial anisotropy. The two-dimensional monolayer is defined by a one-dimensional stack of binary chains, which can be forced to line up along steps in vicinal surfaces.
