Site affinity effects upon charge injection into siloxane-based monolayer

Article Abstract:

Submolecular electrical information is successfully derived by applying element-specific, chemically resolved electrical measurements to a covalently bound stilbazole-based monolayer on a silicon substrate. The pronounced affinity effects are found in response of adjacent atomic sites to external charge injection, accompanied by intramolecular polarization variations.

Self-Folding of three-dimensional hydrogel microstructures

Article Abstract:

A description is provided about the fabrication of three-dimensional particulate-like hydrogel microstructures using the combination of soft lithography and volume expansion, which induces self-folding. By adjusting the compositin of the layer with a higher swelling or the primary swelling layer, it is possible to control the degree of folding.

Role of magnetic forces in electrochemical reactions at microstructures

Article Abstract:

The effect of an external magnetic field on the anodic dissolution of microstrutures is investigated systematically. A model is proposed which discusses the interaction of the forces with the natural and the forced convection to explain the experimental results.
