Site switching and surface restructuring induced by NO adsorption on Pt(110)

Article Abstract:

Research was conducted to examine site switching and surface restructuring induced by NO adsorption on Pt(110) over a wide range of temperatures using infrared vibrational experiments. It was observed that adsorption was strongly dependent on both coverage and temperature with various species being formed on the surface. Site switching was observed under all conditions during NO adsorption. Bridge-bonded species are formed on the surface at low coverages while NO switches to on-top sites at very high coverage.

Kinetic constraints in the phase transitions of chemisorbed carbon monoxide on Co{1010} at high coverages

Article Abstract:

Reflection-absorption infrared spectroscopy and low-energy electron diffraction have been used to investigate the different high-coverage CO chemisorption surface structures on Co{1010} over a temperature range of 100 K to 250 K. At most temperatures, two different ordered phase can coexist on CO-saturated Co{1010}.

Surface products and coverage dependence of dissociative ethane adsorption on Pt{110}-(1*2)

Article Abstract:

The dissociation of ethane on Pt{110}-(1*2) was studied using supersonic molecular beam and temperature-programmed reaction techniques. The study indicates that the stable dissociation product of ethane on Pt{110}-(1*2) at all coverages is CCH2 at 350-400K ands CCH at 440K.
