Solvent properties of supercritical CO (sub)2/HFC134a mixtures

Article Abstract:

Characterization of the solvent properties of CO (sub)2/1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC134a) mixtures in the supercritical state have been performed by means of dipolarity/polarizability parameter pi. Experiments have shown the occurrence of preferential solute solvation by HFC134a.

A statistical mechanical perspective on the temperature dependence of the isosteric heat of adsorption and adsorbed phase heat capacity

Article Abstract:

Analysis of the temperature dependence of the adsorption isosteric heat and of the difference between adsorbed and gas phase heat capacities for monoatomic, diatomic and polyatomic molecules is presented. Results demonstrate that this difference can be either negative or positive.
