Photophysical properties of hydroxylated amphiphilic poly(p-phenylene)s

Article Abstract:

The photophysical and optoelectric properties of three multifunctional amphiphilic poly(p-phenylene)s (([C.sub.n]PPPOH) with free hydroxyl groups and alkoxy groups on the polymer backbone are examined. The charge carrier mobility by the time-of-flight (TOF) method has indicated negative field dependent values of the drift mobility and dispersive transport character for the polymer [C.sub.12]PPPOH, which is typical for organic polymers.

Influence of aggregates and solvent aromaticity on the emission of conjugated polymers

Article Abstract:

The influence of aggregates and solvent aromaticity on the photophysics and fluorescence dynamics of two conjugated polymers is studied. It is concluded that the polymer conformation adopted in the aromatic solvent leads to a higher fluorescence quantum yield and a longer fluorescence lifetime.
