Photochemical charge transfer properties of electrodeposited CdSe quantum dots

Article Abstract:

Liquid-junction photocurrent spectroscopy was used to measure the increase in the band gap of electrodeposited CdSe quantum dots. This was later correlated to nanocrystalline dimensions using transmission electron microscopy and x-ray diffractometry. Semiconductor quantum dots are ideal for use in band gap tailoring in photovoltaic cells. The charged transfer of mechanism of grain boundaries enhanced collision efficiency within the film medium. The energy transfer mechanism produced greater separation between the excited nanocrystal and the Au.
