Spatial heterogeneity in a polymer thin film probed by single molecules

Article Abstract:

Single molecule fluorescence imaging and lifetime measurements provide an effective approach for mapping spatially heterogeneous sites in a polymer melt near the glass transition temperature. A single molecule approach provides an ultimate solution on the long-standing mystery of the physics underlying the glass transition.

Template synthesis of conducting polymeric nanocones of poly(3-methylthiophene)

Article Abstract:

The electrochemical synthesis of conducting poly(3-methylthiophene) nanocones on carbon cloth, employing an aluminal membrane as a template, is reported. A rapid charge transport within the nanocones and between the nanocones and the electrolyte is disclosed by the impedance and cyclic voltammetric measurements.

Excitation induced emission color change in conjugated polymers

Article Abstract:

Luminescence color change of poly-(2,5-dioctyl para-phenyleneethynylene) through variations of excitation intensity was reported. The two ways of changing the emission color are possible and para-pheyleneethynylene is expected to be useful in color tuning applications.
