Spectroscopic characterization of polyaniline formed by using copper(II) in homogeneous and MCM-41 molecular sieve media

Article Abstract:

A study to emphasize the important role of synthetic parameters in the structure of the polymeric material obtained in aniline polymerization by performing the oxidative polymerization of aniline by copper(II) ions in acidic aqueous solution was performed. The study reveals that the ortho coupling and cyclization is a predominant synthetic route in a medium where aniline molecules are coordinated to Cu(II).

High-spin radical cations of alternating poly(m-p-anilines)

Article Abstract:

Three alternating poly(m-p-anilines) are synthesized via palladium-catalyzed amination reactions and polymers are oxidized to radical cations by the use of chemical and electrochemical methods. The presence of radical cations is demonstrated by the appearance of two bands in UV-vis spectra, the positions of which depend on chemical structure of polymers.

Influence of small molecules in conducting polyaniline on the photovoltaic properties of solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells

Article Abstract:

Solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were fabricated using 4-dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid-doped polyaniline (PANI-DBSA) blended with LiI and 4-tert-butylpyridine (tBP) as hole conductors. The introduction of LiI and tBP into the polymer improves the photovoltaic behavior of solid-state DSSCs significantly.
