Structural, textural, and electronic properties of a nanosized mesoporous Zn(sub x)Ti(sub 1-x)O(sub 2-x) solid solution prepared by a supercritical drying route

Article Abstract:

The formation and properties of mixed Zn/Ti oxides prepared by a template-free sol-gel method followed by high temperature supercritical drying in 2-propanol was investigated. A detailed investigation of the samples with a set of methods, shows that zinc does not form as a separate crystalline or amorphous phase but fully dissolves in the anatase lattice, apparently forming a solid solution Zn(sub x)Ti(sub 1-x)O(sub 2-x).

Tetragonal nanocrystals from the Zr0.5Ce0.5O2 solid solution by hydrothermal method

Article Abstract:

The conformation details of the t"-form of the tetragonal phase formation in the nanocrystalline Zr0.5Ce0.5O2.nH2O solid solution prepared by the hydrothermal methods for the first time is reported. The phase separation of the t"-form into the t-form and the cubic phases occurred at around 1100 degree Celsius for the nanocrystalline Zr0.5Ce0.5O2 solid solution.

Thermal decomposition kinetics of hydrazinium cerium 2,3-pyrazinedicarboxylate hydrate: A new precursor for CeO2

Article Abstract:

A study of the thermal decomposition kinetics of N2H5[Ce(pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxylate)2(H2O)](Ce-P) is presented by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). TGA analysis reveals an oxidative decomposition process yielding CeO2 as the final product with an activation energy of ~ 160 KJ mol(super -1).
