Structure reactivity of platinum-copper alloy particles supported on ZSM-5

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on the chemisorbed carbon monoxide to examine the electronic and structural properties of highly disperse platinum-copper alloys supported on zeolite HZSM-5. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy were used to examine the ion exchange between the zeolite and alloys. Results showed that the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy of CO adsorption was the best tool for detecting alloy formation. Moreover, the absence of dipole-dipole interaction between the chemisorbed CO molecules allows for the determination of the dilution of the Pt surface with Cu.

Electron microscopy and catalytic study of silver catalysts: structure sensitivity of the hydrogenation of crotonaldehyde

Article Abstract:

Some studies have indicated that silver catalysts possess excellent catalytic properties in the hydrogenation of alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes despite the fact that supported silver is known to be a significant oxidation catalyst. An electron microscopy study was therefore conducted to investigate the nanostructural properties of silver catalysts and their impact on activity and selectivity in a hydrogenation reaction.

Structural properties of Ag/TiO2 catalysts for acrolein hydrogenation

Article Abstract:

The study of structural characteristics and surface properties of Ag/TiO2-high-temperature reduction (HTR) and Ag/TiO2-Low-temperature reduction (LTR) catalysts is presented. At 77 K, both catalysts show anisotropic X-band electron spin resonance (ESR) signals.
