Structure sensitivity of vibrational spectra of mesoporous silica SBA-15 and Pt/SBA-15

Article Abstract:

The vibrational properties of mesoporous (SBA-15) were investigated by deep ultraviolet (UV) Raman and infrared spectroscopies with and without the presence of platinum nanoparticles in the mesopores that were incorporated by sonication. The D2 feature in the UV-Raman spectra decreased with increasing Pt loading, which is attributed to interactions of the Pt nanoparticles with the silica surface.

Thermal and chemical stability and adhesion strength of Pt nanoparticle arrays supported on silica studied by transmission electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy

Article Abstract:

The thermal, chemical and mechanical stability of Pt nanoparticles supported on silica is measured with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The stability and uniformity of the nanoparticle array make them ideal model catalysts for reactions in either oxidizing or reducing conditions.

An in situ time-dependent study of CO oxidation on Pt(111) in aqueous solution by voltammetry and sum frequency generation

Article Abstract:

In situ time-dependent measurements using voltammetry and sum frequency generation (SFG) were carried out to study CO oxidation on a Pt(111) electrode. The results showed that the SFG peak attributed to the CO stretch vanished immediately after the CO stripping reached its maximum value.
