Sum frequency generation study of Langmuir Blodgett film architecture

Article Abstract:

The sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy data on monolayer films of pure stearonitrile and mixed films of stearonitrile and ferric stearate deposited by the Langmuir Blodgett technique is presented. The spectral analysis has shown little differences in the modes associated with the terminal methyl groups but large differences in the methylene C[H.sub.2] vibrational modes and these are consistent with alkyl chains that possess uncompensated methylene oscillator strength arising from portions of the chain that are bent.

Functionalization of the solid surfaces with thermoresponsive protein-resistant films

Article Abstract:

A study to prove pulsed plasma polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide leads to the deposition of thermoresponsive films is performed. The study reveals that the reversible behavior of these poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) surfaces are exemplified by screening the adsorption of fibrinogen and fluorescein isothiocyanate labeled bovine serum albumin protein by surface plasmon resonance and fluorescence microscopy at low and elevated temperatures.

Synthesis of thermally stable highly ordered nanoporous tin oxide thin films with a 3D face-centered orthorhombic nanostructure

Article Abstract:

Thin films of nanoporous tin oxide with a 3D face-centered orthorhombic nanostructure are synthesized by self-assembly. After self-assembly and template removal, the films are thermally stable up to 600 degree Celsius and retain an ordered, face-centered orthorhombic nanostructure.
