Surface chemistry of monochlorinated and dichlorinated benzenes on Si(100)2X1: Comparison study of chlorine content and isomeric effects

Article Abstract:

An investigation of monochlorobenzene (MCB) and 1,3-dichlorobenzene (1,3-DCB) on Si(100)2x1 is carried out and compared with that of 1,2-dichlorobenzend (1,2-DCB) by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and temperature-programmed desorption (TPD), the room temperature (RT) adsorption and thermal evolution. Calculated energetics for 1,4-DCB on Si(100)2x1 shows that double dechlorination is not as favorable a process as those for 1,2-DCB and 1,3-DCB.

Stripping voltammetry of Cu overlays deposited on self-assembled monolayers: Field emission of electrons through a phenylene ethynylene oligomer

Article Abstract:

The electrochemical and electron transport properties of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of a molecular wire candidate, 1-thio-4-[(4'-thio)phenylethynyl]-1'-ethynyl]-2',5'-(diethyl)phenylbenzene (TTEB) is examined by anodic stripping voltammetry of copper. Electrochemical copper deposition suggests that the SAMs of TTEB passivate the electrode to electrochemistry similar to alkanethiols.

Fermi level alignment and electronic levels in 'molecular wire' self-assembled monolayers on Au

Article Abstract:

The electronic structure around the Fermi level for self-assembled monolayers of a prototypical 'molecular wire' on Au is determined. One-photon ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy indicated a separation between the Fermi level and the peak of the occupied delocalized pi levels of 1.9 eV.
