Surface-enhanced Raman scattering investigating of the adsorption of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole on smooth copper surfaces doped with silver colloidal nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The adsorption of 2-mercaptobenzoxazole on copper is investigated by means of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) by doping smooth copper surfaces with silver colloidal nanoparticles and the metal surfaces are characterized by using atomic force microscopy measurements. The present SERS-activation technique might give good results in the case of SERS investigations on other transition metals such as Ni, Pd or Pt, which provide very weak SERS signals.

Polarized surface enhanced Raman and absorbance spectra of aligned silver nanorod arrays

Article Abstract:

Polarized surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and UV-vis absorbance spectra were measured for a nonpolar Ag nanorod array substrate prepared by oblique angle vapor deposition. The anisotropy of SERS polarization differed from that of the polarized UV-vis absorbance.

Silver electrocrystallization onto carbon electrodes with different surface morphology: active sites vs surface features

Article Abstract:

The influence of the electrode surface quality and surface morphology on the silver elctrocrystallization process onto a carbon substrate from 10(super -2)M Ab(NH(sub 3))(sub 2)(super +)/106 M NH(sub 3), 1 M KNO(sub 3) (pH = 11) electrolyte solution is examined.
