Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopic study of 1,4-phenylene diisocyanide adsorbed on gold and platinum-group transition metal electrodes

Article Abstract:

Self-assembled monolayers of 1,4-phenylene diisocyanide (PDI) are formed on Au and Pt-group transition metals and are investigated by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy under controlled applied potential. The ability of the free NC group to function as an anchoring point is shown by the attachment of gold nanoparticles on PDI-covered Au and Pd and the analysis provides useful NC-metal bonding information for isocyanide-based molecular electronic developments.

A combined experimental and theoretical study on the effect of doping and interface formation on the Ppv-ether copolymer

Article Abstract:

A comparative geometric study base on the density functional theory (DFT) was conducted to study the effect of doping and interface formation on poly-phenylene vinylene (Ppv) ether copolymer in powder as well as film states. The analysis presented the energy position of the lowest occupied molecular orbital with respect to the electrode Fermi level in addition to the energetic diagram near the interface.

Lutetium bis(tetra-tert-butylphthalocyaninato): A superior redox probe to study the transfer of anions and cations across the water/nitrobenzene interface by means of square-wave voltammetry at the three-phase electrode

Article Abstract:

The redox properties of lutetium bis(tetra-tert-butylphthalocyaninato) (LBPC) are studied in nitrobenzene that is deposited as a microfilm on the surface of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite electrodes. The behavior of the modified electrode, which is immersed in an aqueous solution, is typical for the three-phase electrode.
