Surface induced glass transition in a confined molecular liquid

Article Abstract:

Experiments were conducted to study the structural relaxation of a glass forming simple liquid, 3-methylpentane by triplet state solvation dynamics. The results showed interfacial dynamics with 3 orders of magnitude slower than the bulk, which was equivalent to the surface induced glass transition.

Preparation and characterization of water-soluble jingle-bell-shaped silica-coated cadmium sulfide nanoparticles

Article Abstract:

The results of treatment of surface silanol groups with hydrophilic compounds, which enables silica-coated cadmium sulfide nanoparticles dissolved in water/methanol mixture, are examined. The resulting void space like the structure of a jingle-bell is also examined.

Mesostructured silica/block copolymer composites as hosts for optically limiting tetraphenylporphyrin dye molecules

Article Abstract:

The use of transparent silica-block copolymer composites as host matrices for optically limiting dye molecules is studied. The resulting increase in dye solubility and photophysical stability is examined.
