Surfactant-directed synthesis of mesoporous titania with nanocrystalline anatase walls and remarkable thermal stability

Article Abstract:

A synthesis route to mesoporous titanic with remarkable thermal stability was developed using an amine or setyltrimethylammonium-templating procedure. A method was developed to overcome the lack of thermal stability above 350 degree Celsius, by a treatment of the titanic hybrids in aqueous ammonia. It is demonstrated that parts of the amorphous titania walls of the NH3-treated titania hybrids were transferred into walls built up of rutile nanobuilding blocks before the template was thermally removed.

Plug hexagonal templated silica (PHTS): an in-depth study of the structural characteristics

Article Abstract:

The effects of the amount of TEOS, the stirring temperature, the aging temperature, and the stirring time on the structural properties of plug hexagonal templated silica (PHTS) materials are investigated. The high surface area, large pore volume and tunable uniform pore size makes the PHTA very suitable for applications in catalysis, separations and adsorption.

Anatase formation during the synthesis of mesoporous titania and its photocatalytic effect

Article Abstract:

Mesoporous titania was synthesized applying the evaporation-induced self-assembly method. Mesoporous titania was synthesized under both acidic and basic conditions, with hexadecylamine and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as surfactants.
