An alternative cure

Article Abstract:

Soil fumigants, such as dichloropropene, could be the centerpiece of an alternative program to methyl bromide in vegetable farming. Methyl bromide is scheduled to be phased out beginning 2001. The alternative technique, borrowed from peanut and tobacco growers, involves the use of a soil fumigant, followed by a herbicide, such as Tillam, Reflex, Clinior and Devrinol.
