Synthesis and photophysical properties of EuS nanoparticles from the thermal reduction of novel Eu(III) complex

Article Abstract:

Luminescent EuS nanoparticles are synthesized by the thermal reduction of single source precursor (SSP), (PPh4)[Eu(S2CNEt2)(sub 4)].2H2O, under microwave irradiation. The organic product on the EuS surface is identified by using NMR, FT-IR and mass spectra and the luminescent EuS nanoparticles are obtained by the perfect protection of the surface.

Nitrogenation and hydrogenation characteristics of transition metal-iron intermetallic compounds

Article Abstract:

A series of the Laves-type MFe2 and AB-type compounds were prepared, with the nitrogen absorption and desorption properties being characterized by heating them in the NH3-H2 mixed gas and H2 gas. The direct conversion from molecular nitrogen to ammonia over the amorphous-like TiFe2Nx was also made.

Fabrication of CdS nanoparticle chains along DNA double strands

Article Abstract:

It has been possible to prepare CdS nanoparticle chains with line widths equal to the size of nanoparticles. A template was created by using the electrostatic interaction between the cationic surface modifiers on the CdS nanoparticles and the phosphate groups in DNA double strands.
