Synthesis characterization, and luminescence properties of the ternary europium complex covalently bonded to mesoporous SBA-15

Article Abstract:

A novel mesoporous SBA-15 type of hybrid material (phen-SBA-15) covalently bonded with 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand was synthesized by co-condensation of tetraethoxysilanse (TEOS) and the chelate ligand 5-[N,N-bis-3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]ureyl-1,10-phenanthroline (phen-Si) in the presence of Pluronic P123 surfactant as a template. Thermal stability of lanthanaide complex was evidently improved as it was covalently bonded to the mesoporous SBA-15 matrix.

Surface photovoltage, luminescence and cyclic voltammetry on the first series of lanthanide(III) monobenzoporphyrin compound liquid crystals and relative transition metal benzoporphyrin compound liquid crystals

Article Abstract:

The first series of lanthanide (III) monobenzoporphyrin liquid crystals, TATBPYbOH, and relative transition metal benzoporphyrin liquid crystal compounds are prepared and the application of cyclic voltammetry, fluorescence, and surface photovoltage spectroscopies in the analysis of haxagonar liquid crystals is illustrated. The results indicate that these materials are mesogenic ones whose structures show the Col(sub h) phase.

Linkage effects of chromium(III) acetylacetonato units on chiral induction of liquid crystal phases

Article Abstract:

The linkage effects of polynuclear metal complexes on chiral induction are analyzed by using the chiral oligomers of acetylacetonato chromium(III) units as a dopant, inducing chiral nematic phases. The results are interpreted on the basis of the surface chirality model and an enantiomeric pair has photoisomerized both in a hexane solution and in a liquid crystal phase of ZLI-1132.
