THERMOPLASTIQUES COUSSIN-TESSIER

Article Abstract:

Thermoplastiques Cousin-Tessier (TCT), specialists in the production of PVC compounds and thermoplastic elastomers, have installed a new production line at their site in Tiffauges/Vend e. The line will produce 'T febloc' elastomers, made from a base of styrene-butadiene-styrene block polymers and styrene-ethylene-butylene block copolymers, and has a production capacity of 3,000 tons a year. TCT will therefore have a total production capacity of 4,000 tons of T fabloc a year. Products in the T fabloc range are compatible with 'T fanyl'(a PVC compound) and 'Marvylex'(an elastomeric PVC compound), both of which are used in the building and car industries. TCT (1997 turnover FFr 346mn) invested FFr7mn in the project, which will become operational at the end of the first semester of 1998.

Virbac, which makes pharmaceutical, veterinary, and health food products, has merged its Virbac Inc subsidiary in Texas (US), with the Agri-Nutrition group. In South Africa, Virbac has acquired the Logos-Agvet company.
