Thermal chemistry of C3 metallacycles on Pt(111) surfaces

Article Abstract:

An investigation on the thermal chemistry of 1,3-diiodopropane on a Pt(111) single-crystal surface is presented using temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and reflection-adsorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS). The first decomposition steps of the chemisorbed diiodo compound are the scission of its C-1 bonds, and that takes place sequentially and results in the initial formation of an iodopropoyl surface intermediate, which subsequently decomposes to a C3 metallacycle.

Thermal chemistry of C3 allyl groups on Pt(111)

Article Abstract:

The adsorption and thermal chemistry of allyl iodide and of allyl bromide adsorbed on Pt(111) by temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and reflection-absorption infrared (RAIRS) spectroscopies were investigated. A n(super 1) species was identified at 200K directly by RAIRS and formation of n(super 3) was inferred by TPD data with co-adsorbed hydrogen and deuterium.

Effect of coadsorbed oxygen on the chemistry of ammonia over Ni(110) single-crystal surfaces

Article Abstract:

The experiment was done where the surface chemistry of ammonia coadsorbed with atomic oxygen on Ni(110) single crystal surface was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that the hydrogen transfer between ammonia and oxygen appears to take place directly through hydrogen bonding, and to be reversible but baised toward water formation.
