Thermal offset viscosities of liquid H2O, D2O, and T2O

Article Abstract:

The temperature-dependent viscosities of liquid H2O, D2O and T2O have been determined by using the thermal offset concept. This method can be used as a validity check using more accurate data obtained from H2O measurements. It has been observed that the thermal offset viscosities become smaller than the experimental viscosities as the temperature increases. This is due to the breakdown of the mixture model, the further softening of the structure and the normal lowering effects on the viscosity with higher temperatures.

Solvent properties of liquid and supercritical hydrofluorocarbons

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze the solvent characteristics of difluoromethane and pentafluoroethane. The Beckman model DU 650 spectrophotometer was utilized to determine the ultraviolet-vis absorbance spectra. Results indicated that local density augmentation occurs in all of the hydrofluorocarbon fluids. Findings also showed the usefulness of the fluids in supercritical fluid extraction.
