Tunneling effect in antioxidant, prooxidant, and regeneration reactions of vitamin E

Article Abstract:

Research into the kinetics of reactions 1'-4' in vitamin E solutions and in micellar dispersions indicates that proton tunneling plays a significant role in reactions 1, 3 and 4, but not in the damaging reaction 2.

Time-resolved EPR investigation of the photo-initiated intramolecular antioxidant reaction of vitamin K-vitamin E linked molecule

Article Abstract:

The models of vitamin K and vitamin E linked molecule was synthesized as a model of vitamin K and vitamin E which coexist in biological membranes and a study was done by using the time-resolved EPR (TR-EPR) spectrum. The results suggest that the vitamin K and E radicals existed around the water-oil interface of the micelle independently.

UV protection and singlet oxygen quenching activity of aloesaponarin I

Article Abstract:

Laser spectroscopy is used to investigate the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT)-based UV protection and [super 1][O.sub.2] quenching activity of aloesaponarin I [AS1]. It is seen that the functional groups participating in the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer also play important roles in the singlet oxygen quenching.
