Time-resolved sum-frequency generation spectroscopy of cyclohexane adsorbed on Ni(111) under ultrathin NIR laser pulse irradiation

Article Abstract:

The adsorption of cyclohexane on Ni(111) is studied by applying time-resolved sum-frequency generation (SFG) spectroscopy with and without near-infrared (NIR) pump pulse irradiation. NIR pump pulse irradiation enhanced the signal intensity of the CH2 asymmetric mode of cyclohexane in the high-coverage state and it thermally excited the stable cyclohexane in the low-coverage state, converting it to the unstable high-coverage state.

Exchange reaction of adsorbed formate with gaseous formic acid on Ni(110) studied by time-resolved Fourier Transform infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The time-resolved Fourier Transform infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy was used to investigate the behavior of adsorbed formate with gaseous formic acid on Ni(110). The postexposed formic acid was found to replace the preadsorbed formate to form HCOO(a) on Ni(110) in the temperature ranging from 230 to 300 K. Results also showed that the formate was stable under vacuum and did not decompose.

Site-hopping of adsorbed CO in c(4x2)-CO/Ni(111) by laser-induced temperature jump: time-resolved sum-frequency generation observation

Article Abstract:

Co site hopping to upper unstable sites from stable hollow sites by pulsed laser irradiation is demonstrated. Time resolved sum-frequency spectroscopy (SFG) is performed on NIR (1064 nm) pump pulses to induce temperature jump.
