US: W.W. HENRY BOUGHT BY GERMAN ARDEX

Witten-based Ardex GmbH, producer of specialist building materials , is strengthening its position on the US market, where it is already represented through a subsidiary in Pennsylvania . The German company has taken over W.W. Henry Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the US market leader for floor covering adhesives, floor fillers and floor care products. The company claims a 25% market share in adhesives. W.W. Henry employs about 160 staff at factories in Bourbonnais, Illinois; Arlington, Texas; and Dallas, Georgia. and generates an annual turnover of about US$ 70mn. W. W. Henry was sold by Armstrong World Industries.

US: NEW FACTORY FOR ADEX

Article Abstract:

Adex Inc., a US subsidiary of German Witten-based Ardex, has inaugurated a new building at its site in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, which accommodates production, shipment, warehouse and R & D facilities as well as a training centre. In July 2000 Adex took over W.W. Henry, the US market leader for flooring adhesives, flooring fillers and floor care products. Between them Adex and W.W. Henry employ 240 staff at four production sites in the US.
