Zeolite membrane-based artificial photosynthetic assembly for long-lived charge separation

Article Abstract:

A study focuses on a Ru polypyridlyl complex [(bpy)2Ru(II)L, bpy = bipyridine, L = 1,2-bis[4-(4'-2,2'-bipyridyl) ethene] encapsulated on the surface of a pinhole-free zeolite membrane by quaternization of L. The zeolite membrane based architecture is found to have the necessary features for not only incorporating molecular assemblies with long-lived charge separation but also for ready exploitation of the spatially separated charges to store visible light energy in chemical species.

Excited-state dynamics of 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl- 21H,23H-porphine manganese(III) chloride encapsulated in TiMCM-41 and MCM-41; proved by fs-diffuse reflectance laser photolysis.

Article Abstract:

The fast electron or charge-transfer processes between metallo-porphyrin and mesoporous silica by using the ultrafast time-resolved diffuse reflectance spectroscopy is investigated. The investigation concluded that mesoporous MCM-41 and TiMCM-41 molecular sieves are found to be promising hosts for long-lived photoinduced charge separation of adsorbed 5,10,15,20-tetraphenyl- 21H,23H-porphine manganese(III) chloride (Mn(super III)TPP(Cl)).

Field emission from manganese oxide nanotubes synthesized by cyclic voltammetric electrodeposition

Article Abstract:

The cyclic voltammetric elctrodeposition method is used to electrochemically synthesize manganese oxide nanotubes. It is concluded that manganese oxide nanotubes are useful for field-emission applications because they can be easily and economically synthesized at low temperature.
