Chromium- and manganese-salen promoted epoxidation of alkenes

Article Abstract:

The mechanism, catalytic cycle, intermediates, and mode of selectivity of Mn(salen)- and Cr(salen)- promoted asymmetric epoxidation of alkenes are reviewed. Observations reveal that there is a large scope for increased understanding of the mechanistic possibilities, which must lead to further improvements in catalyst design and reaction conditions.

Catalysis in ionic liquids

Article Abstract:

Study is presented with the aim to provide a state of the art review in the use of ionic liquids (ILs) solvents in catalyzed reactions. It shows that catalysis in ILs is hugely varied and in many cases the IL enables more efficient reactions to take place compared with molecular solvents.
