Methodologies for generating solution-phase combinatorial libraries

Article Abstract:

Solution-phase combinatorial approach to drug discovery and lead optimization is gaining momentum as an alternative to the solid-phase approach. Great strides in the form of developing methodologies for generating parallel single-compound libraries have been made and automated. Recent developments in the use of chemoenzymatic methods for library generation hold promise to evolving complex libraries for drug discovery.

Peptide and protein recognition by designed molecules

Article Abstract:

Protein-protein interactions are the essentials of all cellular/organelle normal structure and function and the basis of molecule-based disease therapy. This review focuses on the nature and mechanism of surface recognition of oligopeptides by the complementary, designed molecules with reference to protein-protein interactions.

Coenzyme A analogues and derivatives: synthesis and applications as mechanistic probes of coenzyme A ester-utilizing enzymes

Article Abstract:

The focus of this review article is the synthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) and unusual derivatives of CoA esters and analogues that can interact with CoA and its ester-utilizing enzymes. Data are also presented on the mechanistic aspects of CoA interaction with analogues as they developed from 1960 to 1980s.
